How has everything with the football season been going so far?
“It has been a tough start to the season as we have played the top teams in 4A and some really tough 3A competition. Things don’t get easier this week with our rivalry game against defending 4A champion North Polk. Even though the scores might not show it, I do feel like we are improving each week and I think that will lead to some success as we enter District play.”

Have you been pleased with how you have played this season?
“In addition to safety, I am playing running back for the first time in my career which has been a lot of fun but also a lot of learning. The coaching staff has found some unique ways to utilize my athleticism and get me touches on offense and put me in position to make plays in defense as well. Through the first part of the season I am third in tackles in 4A and have proven my ability to be a lock down corner, run stopper and difference maker on the defensive side of the ball. I also am in the top of the district in kickoff return yards and have blocked two field goals so I have shown my versatility.”

How do you feel your team has played?
“We keep making strides each game. We are a young team so the goal is really just to improve on our mistakes and add each week to our playbook. The wins will come, we just have to stick to the plan, play composed and look to improve offensively.”

What do you feel your team can improve on?
“Limiting penalties and limiting the other teams’ big plays.”

What are the keys for your team being successful going forward?
“The keys would be the same as above.”

Do you want to play sports in college? If so, which one?
“I am keeping all of my options open as far as playing at the next level. I will probably look to make some decisions following the football season.”

What colleges have been recruiting you?
“I have had a lot of interest on the division 2 and 3 levels.”

What school is recruiting you the hardest?
“I have heard a lot from Dakota Wesleyan, Simpson, Central, Drake, Upper Iowa, Dordt.”

Have you made any college trips yet?
“I have had good game day visits to North Dakota and Loras and Junior Days at Drake, St Thomas and Illinois State. I camped this summer at South Dakota, Northwestern, Drake, UNI, Iowa and Iowa State.”

Do you have plans for game day trips?
“N/A.”

Did you have a favorite college growing up?
“My favorite college growing up was Iowa and my brother goes to Tennessee, so I am a new Vols fan.”
